It would be nice. It's kinda confusing to figure out what's a "good rare" and what's a "crap rare." A price guide with a set amount for entry would clear up all that.

Hmm.
I would just go by a price guide. Set a minimum.
Instead of saying, "No crap rares," say "Ante using Utopian's price guide. valued at .66 cents or higher only." (Or .75 cents, or 1.00.)
I wouldn't total up the value of the actual cards, because then you'd get people squabbeling over differences between a .66 and a .75 cent card, but if you set the minimum bar at .66 cents based on Utopian, I think you'd be fine.
If somebody thought a card was undervalued (I think Wirehead Jones is better than .38 cents, for instance) they could ask the present players if it would be a sufficient ante, and the players can either allow or deny it.
But, hey, if you've got the extra time on your hands... original.gif

Each card would have a point value such as, HFN 6 Points, Meme Reset 4pts, Mauler engine 3pts. Before each game players would have to ante a certain amount of points which they would choose. Most likely 6pt games meaning a good payout for the winner. Also with a point value we could do different winning methods instead of winner takes all from time to time. Like First place winner gets to choose 15 points of cards out of the ante pile, 2nd 10, 3rd 6 pts.

I like the idea Feral, it would be helpful to those who are not as farmiliar with the cards as others. So maybe I'll run a few more poker tournies this week to find out with method words the best.

Just a reminder: BSRD does not support any use of Chron X cards except as Chron X cards. We can't enforce "trades for deals" at all. When you are trading, the only thing you are trading for is other cards.

If someone backs out of an "ante" of a poker game, we won't help. The legal issues are astounding.

No worries, if someone backs out of an ante then they will simply be banned from playing with us again. If you can't play fair then please don't.
